Lamri would like to invite you to the free Lamri CMMI-SVC seminar to be held on the 7th December, at the Geological Society, Burlington House, in London. This seminar has been designed to provide an insight into the CMMI, its application and the business drivers for its increased use. The seminar consists of 3 presentations:
What’s driving CMMI?
Much of the published materials and presentations approach CMMI from a specific, often technical view point. In contrast, this presentation will review some the business drivers for CMMI, its application and benefits.
What is CMMI-SVC
In challenging economic times, service organisations, which make up 80% of the world economy, can benefit by using process improvement to make the most of their resources to achieve desired business results. CMMI for Services (CMMI-SVC) is a guide to help service provider organisations reduce costs, improve quality, and improve the predictability of schedules. In addition it can help you take ITIL® to the next level by adding “Process Life Support System” and statistical process control capabilities to your team.
The presentation will briefly describe the CMMI-SVC structure and tease out some of the key model elements. In addition the presentation will show how ISO 20000, ITIL and CMMI-SVC are complementary improvement tools. It will also provide an overview of CMMI Appraisals and discuss their role within an process improvement initiative.
Starting with CMMI-SVC
For an organisation with little or no experience of CMMI-SVC, understanding where to start can be a daunting task. Kieran Doyle (an SEI authorised Lead Appraiser and participant in the SEI’s work for the CMMI-SVC) will share his experiences of how to get off to a good start. as well as some of the pitfalls that organisations fall into.
